BA Flights

Got my fingers seriously crossed!! Been checking the forecast like I have OCD but I guess at the end of the day it'll do what it's gonna do!

All of the weather sites I've been checking (MET, BBC, SKY) do say that the weather is generally improving with no more snow expected; above freezing only on Wednesday though and that's only 1 degree!

On tonight’s news a reason given for Heathrow being at a standstill today is that aircraft have been snowed into their stands. So you can clear the runways buy you can’t get the aircraft moving. I wonder how Gatwick managed.

It was doing fairly well earlier today. Stansted and Luton were chucking them in and out at a fair old rate.

I've just seen the pre-tactical brief for tomorrow. Freezing fog til 1000z, snow showers late morning and early afternoon and if Heathrow can operate, it is likely to be single runway ops for most of the day. Heavy regulations are expected.

Oh joy.

Quite often it would suit me better to fly with BA but I choose not to because their service is so god damn volatile. I know quite a few people who feel the same too!

Absolutely. I have no idea how much BA were charging for my last flight as I filtered them out of my search results on Skyscanner.

Totally agree with you guys. I had the misfortune to fly with BA to Aus last year, delayed transfer to heathrow from manchester due to fog (other flights from other airlines were taking off), **** poor customer service during the flights, then they cancelled our internal transfer back up to Manchester on the way back (this was after a 27hr delay in bangkok already) due to a snow 'forecast', it didnt actually snow that day and all other airlines were working out of heathrow just not BA. To top it all off we got the princely sum of £12.50 each refunded for the transfer!

Never again. Trying Virgin next year to Barbados so hopefully they will be better.

I should be flying out tomorrow, the chance of this happening is 0.001%. All other flights are already booked. Heathrow must be a zoo right now. Lessons learned: do not fly with BA and do not fly from Heathrow. What a friggin joke they blame it on the weather. I mean it was snowing only for a day here in London? And it`s not even that cold compared to some parts of Europe. How can they not deal with this properly?

FML I have to go through this **** every year. Last year it was the strikes and now the weather.

Merry Xmas me! :D:D:D

Well Im still hanging out here in the warmish places of the world, my flight has been delayed again without warning, though thats more to do with the downright poorness of Saudi Airlines, who last time I asked said it was just 'in the hands of god and I should pray' fun times.

My Dad was meant to fly to Innsbruck this afternoon to go skiing for Christmas.

BA have told him the best they can do is a flight to Munich on Monday. £600 taxi fair to the resort awaits.

He is not best pleased.

Been told no flying till Thursday afternoon now. He is, as expected, not a happy man.

Loads of grounded flights means no flights coming in.

The BA website's being utterly temperamental. It must be getting hammered at the moment, but you would think that they'd get hold of the bandwidth to cope with something like this from somewhere :(

There are problems with the Eurostar service which may be causing the confusion. Big delays and backlogs, with overcrowding issues at St Pancras and Gare Du Nord. Not sure igf that has a knock on effect on the Eurotunnel car service though?

Just been called by bmi to be told my flight home tomorrow is cancelled and there's no availability until the 26th which is no good as I'm supposed to return then. Just booked a return with Flybe, £350 to Belfast. Gutted :(

I'm pretty peeved with bmi too. I'm a Diamond Club Gold member and one of the main benefits of that is being able to make guaranteed seat reservations. They wouldn't honor that for me. :(

Write a letter to Diamond Club and have a little moan. You never know what they might give you for you troubles.

I will! I'll probably leave it until after xmas though. I'm sure they're swamped right now.

Was going to fly from Gatwick to Copenhagen today but flight got cancelled. No seats available before Christmas now :( Mind you, this is with Easyjet, and their track record is perhaps not the greatest either.

Weather forecasts for next coming days = bad

Won't be spending Christmas with my family in Sweden thanks to this. But I do get to spend my first ever Christmas with my girlfriend and her family in Cambridge :)

Just got word that my Wednesday flight home from Mumbai's been cancelled. Has anyone got any suggestions? If I were to fly to another airport in Europe and train it would that be possible, and what would be the best airport to fly to?

On another note, how the **** have they cancelled a flight almost 48 hours in advance?
