hi all
its that time again when ive got the bug for an upgrade, looking at value for money for a PC system without a monitor, as I quite like the Samsung G9 unless someone has a better suggestion for quality vs cost.

Looking to build a PC with i7 13700 and 3080ti (unless i can get more VFM from other options) , PC will be used for some gaming including starfield when released as well as destiny and some other civilisation / strategy type games.

I have a decent be quiet 850 W modular power supply that I can use, unless its not powerful enough then will need spec for another PSU. as I've been out of the game for some time, i am here to ask about the MOBO, ram, cooling for the CPU and any decent case suggestions?

is there anything else I would need ? thank you in advance for any comments :)

Do you already have this? If not, how much are you planning to pay?

thanks, no i dont, depends is there a great amopunt of difference between different 3080s?

What resolution/refresh is this monitor? Does it care about freesync/gsync?

monitors has freesync and 1440

With a 13700:

and this cooler (under £50).

Graphics card chosen from this roundup.

With that resolution, I'd suggest that you downgrade the CPU and get a better graphics card, e.g.

interesting with the lower CPU, never considered but makes sense...... will the CPU be ok with the GFX in regards to bottle necking? thanks again :)

It'll bottleneck, yeah, but that resolution is closer to 4K than 1440p (7,372,800 pixels, 4K is 8,294,400), so I'd rather have a more powerful graphics card than a stronger CPU.
understood thanks for that, so if i nudge the budget a bit and get the i7 (more cores) that should ease the bottleneck a bit?
