Hi all

Me and a friend are really getting into BC2. We've both got all the vehicle upgrades now and are enjoying using tanks as a 2 man team. He plays main gun and uses the high explosive ammo, while I go as gunner and jump out/in to repair the damage.

I didn't realise the gunner could use a vehicle perk also.
What would you say is the best perk for the driver of a tank, and what is the best perk for the gunner?

Cheers

As far as I can tell, the perk doesn't apply when you're the gunner. The vehicle specialisation only becomes active when you are driving.

I use the smoke perk. Unless it I am playing with somebody who is on the same wavelength as me, I usually play as the driver/main gunner and if you get hit badly just pop the smoke and back the hell outta there to repair.

The smoke has got me out of trouble so many times, it also gets rid of any tracers that may have hit. It's the best perk IMO.

Smoke, pretty much only use that when flying (sometimes VAlt is not getting tracered)

Mainly VSmoke in ground vehicles, though sometimes warhead or alt again.

Valt mostly if my team are rubbish and don't understand teamwork, or with a good team I'll still rock Valt in helis (if my gunner uses tracers on tanks) or smoke. Usually alt though.

Lots of different answers :)

It seems from reading that the gunner can basically benefit the both by taking either the increased armour, or increased munitions leaving the driver free to take something such as smoke. I guess some experimenting is required!

I once thought I'd mess about and see how many kills I could get in a jeep (running people over) and I ended up getting more kills than with my gun lol. It was only for a laugh though you couldn't actually play like that, funny though.

+ 1 for reload time. People panic when they realise you're firing faster than them.

I read some actual game statistics on that.
Assuming you're accurate and hit your target you're better off with the increased damage, as statistically it does more damage to the enemy than it does to fire more of the less powerful shells.

Attack Helo's - Valt both driver and gunner (as a pair) or if rockets abundatn, Vsmoke and Warhead/zoom

Tanks - 2 engineers, driver with warhead/valt/reload (map dependant), gunner with smoke. When tracered, driver gets out to repair (gunner hits seat 1 and smokes), otherwise, gunner gets out. Requires good teamwork, but works well for my partner and me.
