I signed up with Gamespot last night. Got a key straight away.

Registered new US PSN account today, redeemed the code and works perfectly!

This.......^^ I created a new account for my grandma who lives in america so when she comes over she can play on it

....... thats the only way to get the code to work.

Theres a german link on this forum in the main beta topic thats handing out EU codes, haven't checked to see they work yet.
