Bad films that should have been good...

Resident Evil could have been good too, I still enjoyed the first 3 films, haven't seen the fourth, but they are no way as good as they could have been if they just followed the plot of the game a bit more closely. Just doing one based on the story and settings of Resident Evil 2 could have been an absolutely stunning movie. I do hope that the prolonged rumours of a Grand Theft Auto movie aren't true, they'd absolute butcher it and the games take inspiration from lots of different movies so I think it'd be a bad idea for a film anyway.

Agree on Max Payne - how on earth can you screw such a good concept up, especially given how cinematic the game is?!!!

I would also suggest Ninja Assasin. The Wachowskis should have cut out all that supernatural nonsense and focused less on the gore and more on the generic plot by J.M.Straczynski.

I'd have to agree on the AvP films. Two of THE greatest alien sci-fi licenses, you could say the actual defining films of the genre. Pitted against each other, it SHOULD have been an 18 rated spectacular. The embodiment of the question of what is superior, raw natural ability or technology. Pure vicious emotion or tactical planning and strategy.

Instead the AvP films felt like watered down rubbish aimed at 12 year olds. Sadly any attempted remake of them is likely to be CGI riddled pap now.

Matrix 2&3. The first was absolutely amazing, it still looks brilliant today considering it was made 12 years ago. The CGI in that is better than that of the 2nd!

AvP2 - I enjoyed the first one, but where were the marines?! The second was just terrible full stop.

Robin Hood - Plenty of promise, nothing delivered.

I'll have a think about the rest of them :p

Erm, from what I saw recently I would say Open Water 2. I hadn't seen the first one but nothing happens in it! At least have a shark attack scene!

Also, Catfish.

This was a good film I thought but I can't say how it could've been better without spoiling it.

Jeepers Creepers - it had potential up until they showed the monster and then I got bored and couldn't take it seriously at all.

Wrong Turn - not a terrible horror film despite being derivative but the final couple of minutes should never have happened to set up a potential sequel.

I'm sure there's lots more so I'll have to have a think about it.

...and what you would do to fix them.

I'll start with the obvious: The Phantom Menace.

Firstly, I'd give Lucas a good hard kick in the balls. Then I'd ethnically cleanse Naboo, find a better actor to play Anakin, remove all that political nonsense as well as the midichlorians.

I came up with the idea for this thread all by myself and anyone who says otherwise is a liar.

Addition to this.
Replace the pound shop version of Yoda with the CGI one from Eps. II & III
Kill & burn Jar Jar Binks as early as possible in the film.
Let Darth Maul live & duel with count Duku & then Vader in EPIII for the right to be Darth Sidious's apprentice.

Silent Hill

It would have been 10x better if they just made the story simple instead of trying to shock you with everything in one film. The scary thing about silent hill is when you are walking around and it's all quiet and foggy.
