ok, well, i've built a few systems before and never had any problems :D untill now..... :(

Using:

Abit IN9 32X MAX
E6600 Conroe
320Gb S-ata Seagate 7200.10
BFG 8800GTX
Cellshock PC8000C4

im getting error messages on boot up.

"CMOS checksum error - Defaults loaded
CMOS battery failed
Override enabled - Defaults loaded
Warning! Now system is in safe mode"

is what im getting at the bottom of the post screen
if i use F1 to proceed the systems gets stuck on

"Verifying DMI Pool Data............"

and i cant get past it :(
i've tried different hard disk (another seagate 7200.10 320Gb
but dont have a different PCIe graphics to try

i've replaced the CMOS battery (yes the correct on in the corrrect way around)

And yes, the jumper on the board and the CCMOS switch on the back are in the Normal mode (ie not Clear CMOS)

Anyone got any ideas, or is it RMA time :(

Thanks, Andy

Ok, well i've got windows installed.... but....

Every time i want to start or Restart the computer i have to clear the CMOS memory, either using the Button on the board, or by removing the battery
the CCMOS switch on the io panel wont do the job :(

It shows A0 code -----
best i can find for this is off abit website:

A0~AF Boot clock initial programs 00->AF00 stop at A0->AF Chipset or BIOS damage 1. Clear CMOS2. Send to RMA at last.

So does this look like i gotta RMA it ? :s :(

i can get into the bios and change the settings, and save them..... but when it re-starts it wont post, i have to use CCMOS1 jumper on the board or remove the battery to get it to post, this then gives all the error codes, and re-sets to default
so in all, im stumped... think its RMA time :(
