Bad Mornings - Cat

ive got to bury my cat this morning, she had a stroke the other night, she was a 17 & a half. such a character, really really vocal, if you said her name that was it, she'd be yakking away at you & wouldn't shut up :p the house is way too quiet now without her. dreading trying to dig a grave, it's bloody freezing out there & the grounds like sodding concrete. can think of better ways to start the day.

I burnt my last cat that passed away - proper pagan like. It was immense - had friends round and all drank round the fire until way past midnight - right good send off.

You shut your cat in with nowhere to go, and you're complaining he went on the floor? Just be glad he didn't go in your cornflakes.

Get a catflap.

He is trained not to normally and will ask to go out. So dont leave one down anymore.

You don't leave anywhere for the cat to crap / pee, you keep him in all night, and you're surprised that you've found a turd in the morning?

I understand that you prefer the cat to do its business outside, but at least leave a litter tray in for when it can't get out!

It's a "Protest Poo" according to a vet.

One of ours once took a dump in the middle of our bed because she was not happy with the state of her litter tray.

No catflap or litter tray = dumps in the house.

your quite lucky tbh

my old cat knew with 100% certainty that he would get a beating if he urinated in the house so on the rare occasion he was locked/kept for too long he would find a sneaky hiding place to do it :/

Open the door or get a dogflap.

Thanks for the sterling advice - having had dogs all my life I am quite capable of looking after them. He is also disabled with a problem with his coordination which also impacts his control. They get a huge amount of walking and garden access when they want. He ate something that upset him and didn't let me know in time.

Normally the cat is pretty decent, I mean since we got rid of his tray there has barely been any incidents and none since he knows the situation ie poo outside or get vinegar poured in his eye.

So yes I could get a litter tray again but we dont want him dumping in the house and for the rare occasion he does, I can then post on here and moan about it :D

Tbf to him, he normally squeezes them out in gods green earth. Maybe he is in protest that we went from Sheba to Felix this week.
