Hi all i think my quad sli isnt functioning.
I understand it dont give double the peformance but 8700 isnt a great score on a conroe x6800.

system specs
2x 7950gx2 xfx xxx
conroe x6800
2 gig of corsair dominator

drivers 91.47...

Well given there is no Conroe board out that official supports Quad SLI your results are not surprising.

Apparently the hacked drivers give the illusion that Quad SLI is working, but in reality it doesn't.

10500 on overclocked conroe/7950GX2 (single). I sooo much want quad sli to work...but it plainly dosn't at this moment in time. There are no hacked drivers for the intel chipsets for quad sli - only sli. You score is the same as mine with one gx2, e6600 at stock speed.

Nvidia sux that's why lol!

Only joking... kinda strange how there's still no Nforce590 boards available to buy yet, must be something seriously wrong either in yield or testing.

That board has also been on pre-order everywhere for the past 10 years (or thereabouts). That's why I said "there's no Conroe board out that supports Quad SLI".

Yeah plus the fact there wont be a board out that supports Quad as it doesn't work, its false advertising as said, you can't support something that does not work, i can't see how anyone finds it difficult, there is no Quad SLi, it is that simple, if a board says it supports quad SLi, then it does not as it does not work, Nvidia say their GX2's do Quad SLi, no they do not as it does not work, THERE IS NO QUAD SLI!!!. :p

The drivers for Quad are already out, and guess what IT DOES NOT WORK. :D

Doesn't make a difference anyway, Quad SLi does not work, mobo manufacturers saying 'Quad SLi support', and Nvidia advertising Quad SLi are false advertising, there is no Quad SLi, simple.

Not really as they havent been released as they are still working on it - they will get it working (eventually)

Yea but they shouldnt really be advertising it at all yet until it is actually working which it just isnt at all.

Mad tho my old mans spec is

asus p5 mainboard
intel x6800
dominator ram 4 gig of it
quad sli 7950gx2

and he got that score

and my setup is

asus a8n32sli
amd x2 3800 oc @ 2.6
2 gig of kingston crap
7950gx2

And im getting 8230 in 3dmark06

In my view thats not really omfg score for the price hes laid out.

just on ram alone his is 500 quid more & the cpu is 500 more 1k in money is a lot forget the rest of his setup.
(I hope a new board comes out that really pushes his system)I dont see where the amazing conroe kicks in. I know about the encoding side will own. But for the cash laid out it really isnt omfg look at that go.

Well if he is running at stock speeds then he has wasted his cash. The x6800 & dominator ram are both designed from the ground up with overclocking in mind - hence the unlocked multi and the 8500 bandwidth...running them at stock should be made a crime tbh. The new NV boards are just around the corner which look quite tasty and which will hopefully run quad sli as it should. The old NV chipsets were simply designed for 'sli' not sli x2 so 'maybe' a little thought has gone towards those of us praying for quad sli this time ;) .

Gurusan money is no object so thats out of the running. I just hope it works for him as he is disapointed and i dont blame him...

But he is getting a new mobo when it gets released and he is overclocking so dont worry about that.
