Need a new Vacuum cleaner.

Currently have a 4 year old Dyson and is struggling with pet hair.

Im not totally convinved about the "Bagless is best" theory.

Am currently looking at these:

Dyson DC14 Animal Upright Vacuum Cleaner

Or:

SEBO Automatic x4 Extra

How often do you need to replace the bags and how much are they for the Sebo?

Do you have any pets? Is it better than the dyson at collecting pet hair.

Our current Dyson isnt that great with them.

I own the Dyson DC14 Animal Upright Vacuum Cleaner

i also own 4 labradors
and the Dyson DC14 Animal Upright Vacuum Cleaner is the dogs dangles
the only flaw i would say with it is if your hovering and need to lift the front end up you cant has its a ball
but go to your local retailer give it a test run
with the ball my wife and i both think its the best think since slice bread
:)

Dysons are overpriced rubbish. If it breaks down (which it will) it's new cleaner time as parts are ludicrously expensive. It's all marketing.

You say that though, our Dyson broke where you empty it at the bottom, and we got a whole new centre section for free! Also got filters and other parts free, had the Dyson for 3 years though

They're rubbish, motors failure is common. Spie went through 5, one shop threw a whole large skip load of Dysons (had a chat to him and told me what crap they are) aunties failed, mates failed. Everyone who's got one burnt out within 1 year.

If dyson made a stainless steel or Aluminum Vacuum cleaner i would get one because that would look the dogs danglys

Get the Bagless. There are enough bags on the street so its best to keep them out your house :p

In my experience of owning both though not specific Dyson model, SEBO's are far superior to Dyson cleaners.

No I don't own a Dyson, why would I? For your information, I have an electrolux upright which I bought for £50 2 years ago, still going strong. My old man repairs vacuum cleaners amongst other things, and he tells me for every other vacuum cleaner he repairs, there's at least 2 or 3 Dysons. Most times the repair needed is uneconomical.

If you really want the 'best' vacuum cleaner buy a Kirby.

Oh and How can it be hype? If I slap a 10year warranty on a product, does that make it 'better'?

I didn't mean my post to come across in any way that it must have done to you, I was just stating my experience with Dyson, as the op was asking for opinions, or am I not allowed to do that?

This man knows what he's talking about. We still have our Kirby. It was made in 1963. It's all original parts and will still suck the dust up THROUGH the carpet.

Only bad side is if you have a throw rug (or carpet that's not attatched to the floor) it will literally suck it up off the floor. Especially at the edges. It's also quite a pain if you end up sucking up something you didn't intend to, because the bags are horrific to search through.

TO be honest, get a Bissell, they are much better than a Dyson, better built and are easier to use, the center cylinder comes out, so you have a small cylinder hoover as well as a powerful upright, we got one earlier this year and its fantastic :)

Dyson's are too expensive
