I've been riding my 1992 diversion pretty much non stop without issue until today.

I rode it a few miles to the shops as normal, but when I headed home it felt a bit off, which continue to get worse and worse until I had to pull over. As I pulled over it stalled, and refused to restart.

I got it towed back home, and as I stuck it in the garage, I gave it a quick go. With the choke in, nothing. It turns over, but not even close to catching. When I opened the choke, I still had to turn it over, but evetually it did go, but then stalled nearly instantly. After a few goes I managed to rev it, put the clutch back in, and it would keep going as long as I reved it, but it still sounded sick. Then stalled again.

I've taken the tank off, checked the fuel lines and they all seem ok. I tried the drain plug for each carb, and it's letting out fuel so I'm assuming it's making it that for ok. Not quite sure where to go from here!

Fuel filter blocked ? Sounds like fuel starvation if it fires then stalls ? I know you took the carb drain plug out but could still be a blocked filter ?

Ok, the fuel tank has been off a little while, but there's clearly still fuel in the system. I took the pipe off between the carbs and the vacuum fuel pump, and cranked it over. It spurts fuel out as is it cranks over. Obviously this is past all the filters pipes etc, and goes along with the carb drain plugs letting out fuel.

Going to check the spark plugs tomorrow.

So, guess who ran out of fuel? :o

Everything seemed fine, just wouldn't start. Brim the tank + a bit of easy start in the air intake. Rev until all 4 are firing again. Cue red face. Right, back outside while the weather is still nice!

Basically I am a nublet, I should've switched it to reserve as soon as I felt it go. However, being the paranoid individual I am, I assumed something much, much worse had happened. Only after taking half the bike apart and assuming the worst, did this dawn on me. Live and learn!

LOL , lets face it we've all done it ;)

I've had the bike in bits cos it wouldn't start and the handlebar switch was off, its always the simplest thing and thats usually the organic bit that sits on it :D:D

:p I used to forget to take my bike off reserve after filling up so when I went to turn on reserve a few days later when i needed it I ran out. :o + :p
My worst noob mistake though was ringing a mate & asking him why my bike kept cutting out, After a while he said Malc you've not got the kick stand down have ya. :D
Cue me holding a moby with hysterical laughing coming out of it for about 5 minutes. :p
