Bahamas in May 2012 - what costs to expect

A mate is getting married over there next year, in Compass Point. I've never been before, and will be there for a week. What's the pricing like in comparison with say some of the more expensive European cities like Oslo, Copenhagen etc.

The GF's colleague when to the Bahamas last year (I don't remember the month). Apparently the food was VERY expensive - Eg, $30 for a burger and chips.

I'm afraid that is the only useless insight I can give!

My mom lived in Nassau for a while. Daught lager is stupidly expensive, rum is very cheap. As with all places the tourist trap areas are a complete over priced rip off, but as soon as you move away from those its generally cheaper than the major European cities.

Definately get down to arawak cay and eat some freshly cooked fish.
