I hope i dont go bald:(

So Oaten losing his hair was the reason he turned into a pansy with a liking for rent boys. Yeah right!

I have make pattern baldness and couldn't care less. I like to view myself as being higher up the evolutionary tree. Think about it, early humans were very hairy and I have hardly any hair. Ergo - I am more evolved than men with hair. :p

But didn't Patrick Stewart have that condition that Gail Porter now has so his hair didn't really naturally fall out?

ha ha wtf!? :D

Some people look better bald than they did with hair. Normally their hair was always thin and "dead" looking anyway so it might actually be a relief.

Mines getting a bit thin on top, but its not too bad yet so Im not shaving it all off yet. However, when I do I might end up loving it, who knows? :)

I'm losing my hair at a fair old rate of knots. Got a bald patch at the top of my head and my hair line has receeded quite a long way.

I want to shave it all off and be a baldie but the missus won't let me.

Loss of hair is linked to high level of testosterone.

Thats why you very rarely see bald tramps - alcohol kills testoterone and thus reduces incidences of male pattern baldness.

shaved head all the way mate :D

I shaved mine off ( well a number 1 all over) a few years ago now when the receding hair line just got too far up my head. I now don't need any hair care products at all. my head / hair is dry 30secs after I step out of the shower. It looks OK and I can cut my own hair in a mirror with a pair of clippers.

try it and see what you think, it will always grow back in a few weeks

Im supposed to start going bald as its a hereditery thing, my bro started going bald after he turned 18, my dads bald, same with my grandad etc etc. I tend to shave my head every few months though, just done it today which wasnt wise as I have a interview tomorrow

it happens to most of us at some point in life so nout you can do really, when and if it gets to thin.... buzz it off, i'm 27 and my hair has thinned out a little i like to think i can make it to 32 before i buzz it! but who knows... :p

Alopecia you mean? I don't know if Patrick Stewart suffered from that but it is quite possible.

The interview I read in the paper said he was scared of losing his youth which seemed a terrible way of phrasing things as it caused me to immediately think that he was losing his own youth but grabbing another one to feel better.

If it is primarily genetic I shouldn't have anything much to worry about for a few years yet, my dad is 50 and still has long hair.

Androgenetic Alopecia (Male Pattern Baldness) is thought to be a result of an autoimmune reaction as a reault of increased levels of Dihytestosterone, of which testosterone is a precursor...

Other forms of hair loss have various casues

I'm not going bald yet although I do have a bad receding hairline which, coupled with having stupidly curly hair, means I can't do an awful lot with it. I've been tempted to shave it off but I know I'll look like a pillock if I do :(

I thought hereditary baldness came from the mothers side of the family?

Most definately isn't the case in my family, males in my mother's family have full heads of hair, whereas no male in my dad's family has hair on top.

I'm 20 and it's already quite noticable in certain lights (being fair-haired also). Although it's not serious (yet) it's shattered my confidence. It'll be 20 years before my mid-life crysis so I'd imagine I'll have come to grips with it by then  more like a a quarter-life crysis.

receeding hairline AND curly hair, how many reasons do you need to shave it off? :D
How about grade 1 - 0.5, its noowhere near as harsh as a total shave off.

I would be willing to bet that a lot of people do get effected by losing their hair, especially if they think it is tied into their youth...

But for all of us who need role models...

Vin Diesel
Samuel L Jackson
Patrick Stewart
Sean Connery to name but a few...

Vin Diesel - yummeh! :D
