Baldurs Gate 1 Expansion

That is amazingly cool. I'll probably pick this up since I loved the original Baldurs Gate when it first came out. Haven't played it in years though.
 
I lived BG1 and 2 back in the day but hated the recent iOS port. I'm not much into retro gaming already as I can't seem to endure the older graphics. Is the enhanced edition much better on PC?
 
Enhanced edition isn't great graphics, it's s slight upgrade on the old version but don't go expecting super definition. Play it at normal zoom though and it more than does the job. Few tweaks and additions with quests and the like so whilst you can tell its BG there are enough little bits to keep it fun. Then add the expansion and that is fantastic.

I'm on chapter 3 of my replay right now, just farming a few levels before I go hunting the bandit camp. Such an amazing game!! :)
 
This has been released for those interested, can directly import Baldurs hate EE characters into it.

Apparently it's a buggy mess though and a lot of reviews saying hold off until it's fixed :(

Given how great BG1 was, I'm staying well away. They could only make it worse, and ruin my memories.

Nobody is making BG1 better :p It's too improbable to consider.

It's refreshing to see that nearly everyone, even a lot of neutral folks, consider this a ****dization of a classic game world. Beamdog dug themselves a hole that their company will never recover from now. Any potential Baldur's Gate 3 they develop will fail due to people now knowing how little they care for the license.

Good thing Bioware is a semi-dead (Ill see what Andromeda brings to the table, but if its EA-ified, welp) company to me, otherwise that might bother me.

Well. I guess I won't be wasting my money on this then. Shame really I loved BG1 I played it non-stop when it came out. SJW ruin everything they get their hands on.

I have no problems with equality but Jesus Christ just give it a rest. I don't play computer games to be preached at by someone about what is right and wrong.

True enough!! It doesn't bother me there is a Trans character in the game but not only is it forced upon you and there's nothing you can say back as an evil trait character, but the Trans person says they are a Tranny as soon as the person starts talking, which is annoying both sides of the community

As I said, I feel sorry for Beamdog. They didn't expect such an outrage, but it is their fault for making making the game political. There's really every evidence for this, including making fun of GamerGate and writers calling themselves SJW.

They can still make amends: remove the GamerGate reference, remove OR do something about the transsexual, so she's not obvious political agenda (because it wouldn't be so bad if the character wasn't so cringe-worthy) and apologize to players for calling them "not true fans" and such.

One of the things a lot of gamers complain about is being preached to in games that they play for fun. No one plays Call of Duty to have a character pull them aside and give them a lecture about not shooting people, just the same as no one wants to play GTA just to have the cops give them a half-hour talk about not speeding. The rules of the real world are implemented into games, but it’s up to players to choose how they utilize their own agency. In the new expansion for Baldur’s Gate, many players feel as if the developers used the brand as a way to push for some identity politics in the game as opposed to trying to tell a good story with fleshed out characters.

So what they introduced a transgender character, are epeople so simple they don't want to acknowledge the fact that there are transgender people or something?

It's a non issue.

You should read this. It is a post on the official forum from a person who really is transgender and what they think about the transgender character. It is one of the reasons people are so annoyed. The writing is just bad and doesn't reflect reality at all.

Edit: I'm not angry about the transgender character. I don't have any problem with trans people at all. I'm just angry about how it was implemented. I'm quite a liberal centre left person in real life. I just don't think games should be there to make a social / political / religious point. They should be free of such things so that everyone can enjoy them regardless of their social / political / religious beliefs.

Incorrect, you need to read properly ;) + It is a very BIG issue

Even Transgender people are angry over what Beamdog has done
