Band Logo. Which Do You Prefer?

I have recently spent some time on the Photoshop doing a few band logo's for a friend.
He's narrowed it down to these:

I suppose some background would be good, its just for a small band of friends, they play kind of "I'd like to be a real punk thats a mod" sort music, if you can think up that kind of genre. A bit grungy, not a lot...
If anybody has any suggestions I'd love to hear them! OR if you'd be so kind as to do something youreself, I'd be very grateful.

What sort of band are they? I think that may have some influence on which is most appropriate. They're all good, except for maybe 3, which reminds me of cheese.

Thanks for all the feedback guys, really appreciate it. I agree with removing the 'the' it looks terrible, he just told me to put a 'the' there to see how it looked; terrible.

I'll manipulate those V's and see how they look and upload them.
