He was not much better then the rest of the Real team.

He had no service for long periods of the game and tracking back isn't something he's known to do.

I don't like this turning in to a Messi v Ronaldo debate.

I think Messi is a better player and a better team player.

Look at the EPL. Teams like Blackpool and West Brom doing really good these season. Every team has the ability to beat each other.

I seem to remember Ronaldo being the man of the match and scoring in the Champions League final against Chelsea.

Yeah, you're right, Ronaldo was just "in the right place at the right time" 42 times that season.

As an aside it annoys me a little how some people regard positioning as nothing more than luck. Inzaghi has a reputation for scoring tap-ins but if you've got like 60 Champions League goals it can't all be luck, he's always on the shoulder of the last defender and gets flagged a lot. Likewise Owen is criminally underrated in terms of the penalty box runs he makes (near post darts) and positions he takes up (very often reacting quickest to rebounds).

Why don't we just wait and see what happens at the end of the season and see how influential ronaldo is, and then judge how great he is. If real Madrid win the title then I believe ronaldo will be called a world class player where as if they become runners up a lot of people will claim ronaldo wasn't good enough.

That's not what I am saying I already think he is a world class player but hardcore real Madrid fans will perceive it this way. I agree the whole team have a responsiblity. If they lose by a point you start thinking back on what results went against them.
