Barge tyres

Other tyres I am looking at are:

Toyo Proxes CF1
Yokohama C.Drive 2
Hankook Ventus Prime K105
Bridgestone ER300
Continental Sport Contact 2

But some of these are V rated rether than W for the same price (in my size 205/55/16) so im just a bit confused. The rainsport is W rated and gets excellent reviews, so hey.

V is rated to 149 mph and W is rated to 168 mph.
I really don't think you need to get W-rated tyres.

Go with whatever's OEM. I highly doubt S80s came with W-rated tyres from the factory.

Maybe they did, I dunno. Either way, it's a waste of money.

They probably did, actually - most bigger cars do. Heck my old Mk2 Mondeo rolled out of the factory on ZR rated tyres.

How? I belive my v70 came with v/w rated p6000, possibly P7 but im not really keen to use them again.

How?

I presume most people aren't planning on going over 149mph. :p

Thanks for pointing that out, It would have gone straight over my head otherwise ;)

I was more refering to the difference in construction between speed ratings, as I dont fully understand the science that seperates a V rated tyre to a W rated one.
