basically I think I have seen everything worth watching

i havent seen the top 250, a good portion but it is a very good list! (nice one) and ill have to cheak out some silent film, they all apear to be free to watch also, which is nice
 
The Tin Drum (german) Child growing up in europe between the wars that throws himself down the stairs to stop himself growning up, you see a lot of germany/polish History through a childs eyes, surreal.

Chinatown, Often voted the greatest screenplay ever written

papillon - Steve Macqueen and Dustin Hoffman sentenced to life on a prison island

Cinema paradiso - Biographical film about a man growing up with a love of cinema and how it affects his life. a bit long but still a classic.

Amores Perros - Brazillian film Multistrand Narrative about "life in brazil" along the same lines as "city of god"

Life is Beautiful. - Zany Italian rom-com for the first half, moving concentration camp based comedy in the 2nd.

Some of these are obvious but I hope it's some help.
 
Is that any good? The book is fantastic, but I can't see it translating that well...

Honestly, I haven't seen it but I think it'd be pretty hard to ruin the basics of the book. If you catch it before I do, let me know what you think!
