Battery Working Fine But Reporting As Faulty

i bought a second hand laptop compaq cq70 off of ebay, the battery does charge and it does run off the battery so it is still working ok, my problem is sometimes it shows as having no charge or not charging even though its plugged in, also when i start it up and the battery is low there is a compaq message to say the battery does is showing a problem consider replacing it.

any suggestions on what could be the problem, i have cleaned all the connections and made sure the battery is fitted properly.

When the battery on my HP laptop was on it way out I had similar problems. Replacing the battery fixed the problems - you can get cheaper third party batteries from the rain forest place.

lol rain forest place i had to think about that one, is the battery giving you the usage time it should?

The replacement battery works flawlessly.
