This looks pretty good so far...

For years, there have been documented cases of UFO sightings around the world – Buenos Aires, Seoul, France, Germany, China. But in 2011, what were once just sightings will become a terrifying reality when Earth is attacked by unknown forces. As people everywhere watch the world's great cities fall, Los Angeles becomes the last stand for mankind in a battle no one expected. It's up to a Marine staff sergeant (Aaron Eckhart) and his new platoon to draw a line in the sand as they take on an enemy unlike any they've ever encountered before.

reminds me of district 9

May I ask how? Besides the fact it is about aliens and it set in a city I see no similarities what so ever.

Regardless though I think this looks great, seeing as Skyline seems to be getting panned, I think I will hold out for this.

looks interesting enough

special effects, guns, aliens, mass destruction...

tick all the right boxes on paper, acting will suck probably.. who cares :p

The camera angles, the gritty look to it, the news footage. It all reminds me of elements of District 9 (not a bad thing mind). It also looks to have mixed the CGI/Real elements together nice and fluidly, like the former did.

Aliens, explosions, shooting, mass carnage = :D

I did spot 'mom and child in peril' though. So most of the film will probably be about them, rather than the full on war type stuff that every one actually wants to watch. :(

;)

That's fair, didn't realise you mean more in terms of a stylistic similarity.

I agree, will also be watching Skyline as well...

Stelly

Me too, can never have enough alien invasions :p

Anyone ever wondered why no one makes an alien invasion movie where its set in the medieval or roman domination times....personally i think it would be awesome to see what methods the screenwriters could come up with to combat the aliens.

Oh and Outlander doesnt count ;)
