*** Battlefield 1 ***

I actually played the single player last night (before the patch) as I was testing out my new TV (and wow this looks great on a 65" 4K OLED!)

The menu screens were all flickering, which I assumed was an SLI issue as well. I had to switch to DX12 (which doesn't currently support SLI) to stop it.

Were other SLI users getting flickering?

i think someone wanted to show off that he has a 65" tv :p :D
Im still using a 42" FHD ive had for years :(

Yes and No, otherwise I wouldn't have mentioned it :D

I did the Flying campaign section, which I hadn't played before and the mountains almost looked photo-realistic.

But the flickering menus was genuine and is the sort of problem you would occasionally get years ago when SLI support was more hit & miss. I know people in the graphics forum had mentioned SLI support suffered but I hadn't played the game since October (when SLI worked fine)

SLI was broken in last month's patch (flickering menus and textures), still waiting for DICE to fix it (It worked prior to that).
Edit: Having said that Nvidia may need to create a new SLI profile as well..

Thanks, that's basically the confirmation I was looking for.

I guess it's possible the patch fixes SLI without them mentioning it? If anyone wants to give it a go (I can try it later)

But if not, hopefully a revised Nvidia driver can sort it out.

What do most of you guys have your controls set up for flying the planes?

I use just the keyboard, buts its awkward as hell! I find the mouse also is quite difficult to use.... Is there somewhere in game I can test flying?

Hey up old chap, I use kb and mouse too, but bind 'pull up' to space bar so you can perform tight turns more easily rather than furiously pushing up on the mouse, picking it up and doing it again :)

Heyup pal! You got the game too?

Yeah I saw levelcap had W&S as nose up and down and used the mouse for fine tuning during bombing runs.... I can only assume he uses shift as speed.

However the more I think about it, the more it makes sense...

Up - S / Mouse back
Down - W / Mouse down
Roll left - A
Roll Right - D
turn left - Mouse left
Turn Right - Mouse Right
Accelerate - Shift / Side mouse button
decrease - Side mouse
Switch weapon - Roller mouse
Change view - Right click

Thoughts anyone?

I searched for "quit" and couldn't find a fix for the quit bug. *sigh*.

All of these gameplay changes. What was the point in having an Alpha community of testers? Will they ever just leave their **** alone?

I just use stock plane controls, but bind change weapon and change view to my mouse thumb buttons, and of course space to pitch up.

There's always changes. Tweaking one thing can massively unbalance something else etc.

Overwatch has had constant balance changes since release in May, and that had extensive Alpha and Beta testing.

They make a nerf and it has unexpected consequences to character picks, or they buff something else and it becomes too powerful.

And yet, no mention of an SLI fix in there!

No nerf to any sniper mechanics or ability to limit class numbers on custom game servers. Ugh! :(

Snipers need far more initial sight sway imo bullet drift changes with the variable weather would be nice also. Just to make the class more difficult really, its to easy atm to go sniper so loads of players do in the team and then teamplay suffers.

No mention of the annoying screeching audio bug I'm getting either which is worrying. Its doesn't seem a widespread issue but have seen a few posts and threads about it on different forums/reddit.

Quiz button is fixed:
"FWIW, Quit Button fix is a thing, however missing in the notes."

Kind of regretting buying this.
Hadn't played it for a couple of weeks, so had a go on Saturday afternoon. I played for about 30-45 minutes, then got frustrated and left because I think about 99% of the times I got killed, it was by a sniper, and no one seemed to be doing much on my team. Usually this wouldn't bother me too much, but I don't know why, I just couldn't get into the game at all. And the game feels much more like a twitch shooter than previous BF games....I know they definitely aren't meant to be the last word in realism, but BF games have always felt distinctly different to COD for me, but BF1, less so.

Conversely, I've spent much more time playing Squad, which I bought after BF1. Anyone else feel the same? Perhaps I just had a bad game, but it just didn't draw me in at all :(

I hated BF1 initially, thought I had wasted 30 quid, but I sunk some time into it and got through the pain period and really enjoy it now.

It's a very choatic game on operations, really does go for that world war feel. Mortars going off, bombs from planes, charging in etc.

I hardly get shot by snipers to be honest. You just learn where to go and what to do and get used to it. Then you find it way easier.
