I keep getting this after a computer reboot. Any idea what's causing it? I can't play BF3. It was working fine, rebooted the pc and now i get this.

What anti-virus are you using?

Sometimes my Avira detects the BF3.exe as a Trojan and blocks it. Try adding it to your trusted programs on whatever software you're using.

Probably got this all over the thread so I'm sorry if this is repetitive but 1012 pages is a lot of reading through to check lol.

I have an I7 930 @ 3.6Ghz, 6GB of decent RAM and a single GTX480 and didn't get the chance to play much of the beta whatsoever to benchmark my system. Any indication from those with a similar setup as to what I can expect in terms of performance in a few days would be most appreciated!!

If you are playing on PC, please enable the following online ports on your connection:
TCP: 80, 443, 9988, 20000-29999, 22990, 17502, 42127
UDP: 3659, 14000-14016, 22990-23006, 25200-25300

Jesus that's a lot of ports.

I'm also using Avira Free. It initially picked BF3.exe up as a trojan. I asked it to always ignore, but it still picked it up time and time again. How do i get avira to add it as a trusted program?

EDIT. It IS avira causing the problem. When i disable real time protection, it works. How can i add this exe to a trusted list?

good luck creating a masterid guys I can't seem to manage to do it.

Yup, that was same for me, didn't get anything for proof of purchase either.

hmm just encase you have the same problems with logging in as I did etc. so;

- close all GMG related tabs
- go to the main home page and sign in there
- then click on forums or/and support for your ticket
- And choose the technical support sub forum
- near the top on the right side of the image click new topic

Post away :)

Yeah, just have to pester GMG until they get back to you like I did m8 :p

Thanks again mate, i have posted my issue but since then i have had a responce from my ticket. He said sorry for what has happened and that he needed my full name and transaction id from my card which of course i dont have yet as its still pending. Once they have that info he'll look into it for me. I guess i will have to wait for a few days to see if the pending transaction drops off my account or if it does go through fire over the ID, dont know if i can actaully see the authorization codes for my transactions so might have to call up the credit card company to get that info.

I really want to purchase the game again but on a different credit card but im just kinda wary as if they see i do have a key assigned to my account it might confuse matters as i have raised a ticket saying i have not recieved my key lol.

I heard sli xfire set-ups aren't running that smoothly for BF3. Could be an idea to try disabling 1 of the cores and checking if that helps.

i got a nvidia 295 aswell and it runs like ***** for me. drops into 30's at times on low. what driver you recommend mate?

Glad to hear I'm not the only one.
Well I did try the newest driver, but that clearly isn't working, my brother with an ATI 5570 can run higher settings than me.

Currently installing 285.38 to see if that'll work. Also, make sure you've enabled VSync (because the card's dual core) and Triple Buffering (to improve VSync performance).

Anyone else having stability issues with single player? I get a freeze every 30 mins or so, mouse appears over the top of game and freezes, can close and reopen but its annoying. Tried not overclocking but still does it.

I was going to suggest what you've already done - always ignore worked for me. There are further settings in the actual client that could play with to get it to work, however I'm at work so I can't help you until I get home.
