Little tip! Low graphics settings on everything, fxaa on high af x16 hbao and motion blur off and then change mesh quality to ultra! Fov 90 By far the best for visibility so easy to see enemies and amazing draw distance! This is at 1080p capped at 120fps on a 27“ monitor!

Unguided tank rounds and RPGs will now instantly destroy Jets, Attack Helicopters, and Scout Helicopters.
About ****** time.

^balance
I can only assume that's sarcasm.
I like this.
However I don't like the fact that flares will now distract laser guided missiles. WTF is that all about.
The transport and scout chopper have no defense against the the noob lock, fire and forget javelin/soflam combo that has massive range, so I guess the easiest way for Dice to correct this was to make flares counter it. Having a potential 10+ players on the ground with the javelin I can see why some balance is required on PC.
On consoles ' 24 players ' the ECM actually distracts all LGM's regardless of its position as opposed to the PC where an LGM will 99% of the time hit if you deploy the ECM after the missile has been locked and fired, the fact you don't know when an LGM has been launched is another balance issue.
Something so easy to use should not mean easy, no effort required kills and therefore requires better balance on PC where squads of engineers, recon and support can dominate all armor and aircraft.
If a pilot gets locked on, and killed by a SOFLAM & Jav it's their own inability to use the tools at their disposal.
It's only easy providing you actually have someone on your team with the ability to designate targets. Otherwise, forget about it.
As we already know, Stinger/IGLA are completely useless, although may become viable from a defensive stand point with the patch.
I will say something, a pilot is still going to need timing in order for the patch changes to be beneficial. Suppose that brings an element of skill into it. (With the Javelin being silent)

IGLA and Stinger now lock on much more quickly and disable an attack aircraft in one hit.
Now considering these changes, ECM is going to be the only real option however it's going to be almost impossible to dogfight anymore if your within range of a stinger because of the reload time.
-The IGLA and Stinger now lock on much more quickly and disable an attack aircraft in 1 hit, but have significantly reduced range. This should allow Stingers to mount an effective close range point defense, without dominating an entire airspace.
The tools are not balanced properly, when a soflam or CITV target you there is no audible sound that a javelin has locked on and fired at you, ECM reload takes 11 seconds it's very easy to be nailed by a javelin on a full 64 man server so balance is required when you have one attack chopper versus so many potential javelin users, the flare counter to a javelin is that balance.
Stinger/IGLA is getting a major buff next patch but with slightly reduced range for better balance.
The soflam can be dropped and left to target on its own, no designation required because of its huge range and massive FOV.
I think they will put in audible warning when the javelin has been fired, only makes sense.
Good job that..
Then again this is Dice we're talking about, sounds good on paper but in action it can be a total cluster ****.
