Our 2gb brothers might be sacrificing image quality much sooner than expected by the '2gb will live forever crowd'.

Relax 3gb+ users, its looking good for us vram wise. ;)

Remains to be seen if single card will have the grunt to use up 2gb of vram and provide playable fps, but dual card definitely will and that is where the 2gb cards may fall short.

Cue nerd rage...

Oh well, boo hoo for me :(

Don't quote me on that. I'd expect performance to have increased a lot from those alpha benchmarks which were useless. They had no game or driver optimizations at all.

:D can't wait for bf4.
Recommended Os - windows 8 maybe bf4 will use some of dx11.2 features?

You know it. :)

Windows 8 master race/os. :p

I'm going to remain cynical and put it down to good marketing and AMDs influence. Too early to tell with those alpha benchmarks what the performance will be come release. Yes I have a 2gb card, but I'm in the market for a new card (looking forward to AMDs new release) so I'm being completely impartial here.

No harm in sitting on the fence. :)

New BETA soon so i guess we will have our answers, with the bargains lately i have been tempted to get a 7970 because of the 3gb Vram but keep telling myself to wait for the new cards.

You'd think so wouldn't you? Depends what map they include. For battlefield 3 beta they included the smallest map with the smallest vram footprint. Hopefully they at least include a full size map this time otherwise expectations might get raised more than they should.

Well i am on Windows 8.1 RTM as of Friday activated and stuff. This windows should be BIG cause i LOVE IT !!!! And i was against 8.

Everything runs better on it. Might be cause of fresh install but I like it :)
Now just waiting for AMD to give me dx11.2 drivers :]

That's a good point. I'll need to upgrade my Windows 8 to 8.1 when its released. Does that mean ill need to do a complete reinstall ? I presume it means i will. It should be released a week or two before Battlefield 4 i think so that gives me plenty of time to get everything in order.

EDIT

Better backup my porn folder while i think of it.

I got mine for 15quid :D students got it cheaper

The win8 key is perfectly legit. You wont even need to touch win 7 ever again. You can even format the drive reboot and then choose to install and the only thing you have to do to be able to activate is search for MediaBootInstall in the registry and set it to 0 and them type slmgr /rearm in the command prompt.

Good shout Phix, never knew that. As i have an upgrade key ive been using an install key to install windows 8. Then i put in my own key in after its installed and it activates.

Just done a fresh install, never needed to touch registry. Key just worked first time.

That's cos you must have a proper key. I have an upgrade key, but in essence it works the same. With an upgrade key all you need is an install key (which is free for 30 days) first before you can activate.
