Battlefield 4 Thread ~ Server details in opening post ~

Apart from the rubber banding mess, had a fun round with windzr, enemy team were just noob camping snipers on top of the towers on that jungle goldeneye level, went below them and was just firing single shots with my suppressed ak5c and killed about 3-5 (in total) just camping there haha, windzr must have got about 5 kills from that spot alone too :D Then killed one that tried to climb the ladder, waited till he got about half way up :p :D

Let them think they've made it, then bam!

Nearly every time the building collapses on Shanghai the game crashes out and i get disconnected... annoying! Steering clear of that map at the moment.

server crash = lose everything you got
crash on your end = keep everything you got as long as you don't go back on during the same round, have to wait till the round is over.

Oh my! Now I see why you guys are venting.

Had no issues, until today and have had 3 crashes in a row - each unlocking multiple things and promotion. I was playing and thinking I'm sure I've unlocked that already!!!

I guess top tip would be avoid the large ticket servers and hope you reach the end of a round then! lol :D

crash at the building collapse?

No. I was on top of the C Tower but there was no sign of the building coming down (no alarm).

The only reason I'm persevering with this is because I know there's a really good game hidden beneath the games many many issues.

What I won't be doing EVER again is buying another game (especially an EA/DICE title) on release date.

It honestly seems like every single big game is beset by problems with its multiplayer elements. Is it really that difficult to launch a game? I know there's more stress on servers and stuff at launch because of more people playing, but can't they just buy additional servers. Are they just being tight?

IE on win 8 is being a pita for me, keeps asking to download and install plugin which I do then click continue and it asks to do the same again, grrrrrrrrr, got chrome working ok but anyone else had the same?

Yeah, it doesn't work with IE11. Another major oversight on Dice/EA's part.

They are aware of the issue though, moderator on official forum says they are going to look into it at some point. Think the multitude of other issues are further up the list though.

i work for a software company, as a Certified Software Tester & Software Developer. Make a Bug-less game is impossible. Making a Game with minor bugs is possible but takes time. Developers want the game to Be Good, Testers do. But What happens is There will be a number Meeting with Director to decide if its release worthy. Even if Testers/Developers Say it shouldnt be released Directors overrule them. Its EA Directors/Shareholders at fault not DICE.

Its True you eventually have to release it with some bugs. But sometimes releasing to the market in a bad way is better for the company as Whole. (Shareholders wise) stupid but true.

Dont Hate The Developers Hate the way companies work.

On your note about servers. Servers to get Perfect would cost 10s Millions more to make perfect at launch. Somthing they wont need in 2 weeks. How would you propse that to shareholders. you cant. We want to spend 10 million more for a better 2 weeks to the customer, with no return?

ive had to ask at work for 100,000s for equipment its hard to justify sometimes.

our team at work when we release products stamp our feets hard to stop them launching sometimes it works. but we normally push our testing so hard we find really bad bugs that stop release which cheers us up :D
