Battlefield 4 Thread ~ Server details in opening post ~

I can't play on HC servers, my game takes at least two seconds to identify a team player (they appear as an enemy with no tag, then turn blue sometime after)

Alas I am that good that in that short amount of time I've already TK'd them :(

First of all hi to everyone on the forum being this my first visit.
I have stumbled upon this BF4 benchmark where it states that W8 is a far better solution for this game.

http://www.hardwarepal.com/battlefield-4-benchmark-mp-cpu-gpu-w7-vs-w8-1/

I am running W7 64 bit and i have awful stutters from time to time, and my real question is: is it really worth it to go through all that trouble in order to get this damn game to work properly?
Has any of you switched from W7 to W8 just for this game and what are his thoughts?
Is it worth it?
i am getting chills just thinking about that horrible Metro, etc...

Whoever thought this game mechanic was going to be a good idea wants shooting tbh. ****ing stupid idea.

I got shot down when saying that....Soooo realistic LOL

It works in Red Orchestra 2 because the two sides have consistant skins which are pretty easy to tell apart, and also in comparitively bland background graphics. In BF4 eveyone will have different skins and the graphics are just too busy to quickly tell anyway. And of course, your avergage BF4 numpty will just shoot first anyway.

Love the sraw! :D

Got a few helis and even a jet down tonight lol :D Taking a while to get use to it again, been so long since I played bc 2 with the at4.

Lmao I saw you wipe out that jet. Thought you were just using the Stinger or IGLA and that I was just using them so terribly wrong. Can't wait to unlock that now. Does it 2 hit kill choppers?

Thanks for the post mp260767

I am looking into that, I am not sure how to do it but will have a google and I'll be back if I can't figure.

Welcome to the forum Kr0nin :p

Ok just in case there is another noob following in my foot steps:
W7 In control panel > folder options > view
> scroll down and 'uncheck' Hide extensions for known file types

This displays the file extensions on your PC!

Then in notepad write:
perfoverlay.drawfps 1
gametime.maxvariablefps 70

Save it and change the file extension and save it as a .cfg file

user.cfg

This then goes in the Origin Games > Battlefield 4 file
This is easy to find, right click on the BF4x86 desktop icon and open file location - result!

Is that correct? And thanks to mp260767 for the help

Now to see if it helps, any more tips appreciated.

Thanks
