Anyone else getting really bad frame drops? I'm running at round 40fps avg? Thats not normal. Latest drivers, custome (not ultra) settings for max fps. Just seems really bad today.

I'm running a very similar setup to you so thought I would share my settings:

Here are my results from a recent game on Zavod:

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
190062, 1590297, 105, 122, 119.514

Settings in game (xfactors):

NB: I'm capping my FPS at 120 via the BF4 console. Theory is that disabling vsync will reduce any input lag.

Nvidia settings (2 X FXAA, no vsync)

I have also unparked my cores.

Does anyone else ever find that performance can be a bit hit and miss? I mean last night I had a few great games with very little stuttering and quite high frame rates at around med and really enjoyed the game. However this morning on the same server with the same settings I stutter like crazy and even at their highest the frames arnt as high as last night. Everything is the same, settings, map, server, no of players, game mode.

Sorry 1kiwi, but I refuse to play with anything set to low ;)

Haha fair enough mate. With everything set to Ultra, 2 X FXAA I get between 80-120. Like xfactor I just dont notice any difference with the above settings so prefer the additional frames. I guess the good thing is with driver updates I should be able to up those settigns with limited impact on frames.

No money at the moment guys, so its a matter of somehow making it fit lol. I have 4 drives but just the 1 ssd. The only game I have on the ssd is BF4. I will take a look at DiskSpaceFan4 now and see what I can find.

Ok well, am i right in thinking i can install all the Nvidia drivers onto another drive?, had no clue they took up almost 5gb.

Boot up from a mechanical HD for windows then use the 60 GB for bf4.

Origin; siege3pointO_O

PS benchmark your hard drives, find the fastest one make that the boot drive.

You can delete that Nvidia folder, mate. That's just where all the installers that you have downloaded are extracted to before install.

It's amazing that people are having completely opposite experiences. I've had no issues what so ever aside from a few attempts to join a server. shame really, hope it's fixed for all.

Very frustrating to say the least. I crash also but the worst is getting severe stuttering from 144fps to 20fps and back up. During this time even my mouse won't accept input and therefore I get boned. If it happens when flying, forget about it (said in NY accent)

I have capped my fps at 60 in game. setting are all on ultra.

I do notice a good improvement with vsync turned on. with it turned off, so some maps the ground looks all wavy when i run, with it turned on, then it is nice and smooth.

I had 2 direcrtx crashed this morning, then I put the gpu clocks back to standard setting (msi afterburner) then it loaded fine. but yesterday I was running it most of the evening with the tweeked clocks and I did not have a problem at all

I wonder what causes this?

thanks
ian

Anyone think that enemy players seem smaller in this compared to bf3? Dont know wether its my settings or what but im finding it much harder to hit anyone at medium range. Currently at ultra, x2 msaa, 1920x1200 and 85 fov.
