My BB Bold has suddenly started eating batteries. I charged it last night and took it off about 7 but by 11 it had used 60% with it barely being used. I had to keep topping it up all day. When i left work at 5 i swapped batteries to one that was fully charged and its now empty, i did listen to music for about an hour which would normally only use maybe 10% but other than that I've not used it. The bluetooth and wifi are turned off so it's using minimal power. I can't understand what's causing it.

Is the GPS accidental turned on? Is there other apps residing in memory? Maybe a software update might help?

I take it you have 2 different batteries and they both don't last long?

Do you generally top up the batteries regularly?

Try running them out completely and then charging fully... newer batteries aren't supposed to have the old "memory" affect but it stills seems to happen.

Hmm could be a faulty battery or even a faulty Bold...does your battery get very hot??...if it does then id look at getting the battery replaced with a new one...if the new one still has the same problem then i reckon it could be the Bold at fault.

Also make sure no unneccesary apps are running in the background other than the standard 5 that run all the time.

i have 2 batteries as i swapped between the 2, the phone gets warm normally if video or audio is used. The strange thing is the battery has been working fine up till this morning and now its draining quickly again.

yesterday i had a few problems with the phone becoming unresponsive which required 3 reboots to get working again. i've dropped it a few times this week and there's what i presume to be cracks (they look like whites lines) at the back of the screen.

the only apps i run is msn and skype

Sounds like the phone is on its way out...if its still in its warranty period then maybe send it off to get it looked at but you might get charged for that especially if you have dropped it and you now have cracks at the back of the screen.

The Bold isnt a tough phone...ive dropped mine a few times but luckily its been in the pouch that i have my phone in.

I'm usually pretty careful with my phone and always use the leather case. Ever since I was told our new phones were on their way as we're moving over from vodaphone to o2 I've been a bit of a cluts
