As everyone expected - tyres are going to effect things much more than adjustable rear wing or KERS (both of which seem to be expensive but pretty redundant toys)

Cheers iv been waiting for part 3... Think they are right about the good team rookie pay drivers, they might not be the BEST rookies but should be more than good enough to justify the money the bring in (the Williams example is the most important one)

Didn't know which thread to stick this in, but this'll do.

Nice video from RBR explaining how KERS and the DRS system works.

Bloody idiots.

If you can;t afford Kers, tough Luck thats f1.

It uses more energy to reserch, design and produce teh system than you produce. Well yes thats what research does, it improves things.

Kers should be great, if it wasn't so bloody restricted, as it is so restricted it is absolutely pointless on all aspects. But if you want to make a sign for the greenies. Then make a standard bloody kers, after all with such restrictions it basically is, same as the stupid engines.. Agghhhhhhhhh

I feel your pain. :p

My main gripe is the recent focus on aerodynamics rather than mechanical improvements which could then filter down to the car industry.

Totally agree and it has also lead to teh problems we see with overtaking, dirty air and "easy" driving. cars should not be able to go flat out. Shouldn't be able to just plant your foot to the floor.
Engine power should far outstrip mechanical/aero grip. And mechanical grip should far outweigh aero grip.

Brilliant video.

It also shows that KERS isn't just about pressing a button. Its about how and where you use it.

Another point made was that in 2011, in order to overtake the car in front, you have to be roughly 1.5s/lap faster than the car in front.
