Really, this happens all the time? I'm sure it doesn't. And are the NAS implying that people with autism are special needs? Well, that's not very PC. How very ironic.....

Are you ******* kiddign me!? Honeslty, TWO complaints! It's always such a low number of complaints in news stories like this one. Who gives a damn if a tiny fraction of people (read utter lameo's) are SO offended by BBC produced prattle. Such sensitive, fragile little weaklings out there. This countries PC brigade needs to go **** itself. /rant

It would not surprise me at all, if in the majority of these cases of 'offense', it is certain people being offended on behalf of the 'victims' rather than the 'victims' of the joke actually being offended themselves.

I'm not aiming this at you Badgi but I think people tend to believe that just because they don't see the offense or the consequences, they don't happen.

The government didn't kill Ofcom because it provides a watchdog for TV? i.e. potentially, at least, a useful service to prevent or regulate unacceptable televisual broadcasts.

I rather think it was the "speciale needs" crack they were objecting to rather than him calling the car a simpleton per se.

For the little it matters when I heard Jeremy Clarkson's comments I shrugged, it's what he does and offers no great surprises. He's crass and often insensitive but through that he's sometimes funny with a turn of phrase that neatly encapsulates an idea. If you're of a sensitive disposition then Mr Clarkson is someone that it is better not to watch, one thing that can be said for him is that he tends to be a fairly equal opportunities offender.

Maybe you'd be better off defining what you think constitutes a disability because special needs is often used as a synonym for someone with a learning disability.
