Becoming a Butler

very interesting, how does one find such a job? the supercars and private jet sold it to me :D

Google for it. You'll be surprised at what's available.

I'm going to take a gamble and do the course my friend did then do a few Months free work with his employers.

After that getting a job should be quite easy especially as I'm willing to relocate.

Not particularly fond of the idea of having a butler, it's shameful and lazy, if you can't control your empire/family/personal life, then so be it. But don't hire someone to do what you signed up for.

I've applied for a job to be a butler/house manager for someone very very famous in London as I know someone who is/was very close with the family.

Pay was about £40,000 a year and got myself an interview with the personal assistant.

They were desperate for someone and I stepped up which is how I got the opportunity but someone else more qualified got the job :p

Shame. :(

That is a shame. Not thought about going for another job?

Dont you have to be well spoken?

No, not at all. Especially if you work for Americans.

I'd be interested to know what the hours are.. I'd imagine they'll be close to 24/7..

This depends on job really. My friend works 36 hours a week but lives off site. He does have to work late some days but then finishes early others. One of the things they teach you at the training course is how to say no to your employer.

Some jobs are more 24/7, especially if you live on-site.

silly if you can manage your own life you can manage someone elses...

its not exactly hidden knowledge is it lol

I will keep that in mind.

I wouldn't mind working 36 hours per week for benefits like that.

If you do a good job and are a good person then even a 'nasty' family could start to like you once you leave your impression.
