Bees/Wasps in a wall...

i'll just leave this here...

Incredible!

It does go to show the difference between honey bees and yellow jacket wasps. If it was a moderately small wasp nest then it would have made the house very difficult to live in for 10 years, however a massive bee hive made the house presumably difficult towards the end, but the house must have been usable before that.

We have two swarms at the front and side of the house. I checked last week if they were in the loft but didnt see any. This morning there was a huge one on the landing so they have to go as i will worry about my son stepping on one. Just booked there removal for £140 but it will save the misses being terrified about getting stung.

whatever you do dont spray chemicals like bleach into the hole, i made this mistake last year it only seems to make them a lot bigger, and angrier

Ahh, that well known insecticide... household bleach.

You do get powders which the wasps will pick up as they touch it and take back to the nest. This will kill them after an hour or two, you could presumably buy some and put a bit in each air vent.

Make a placard demanding they leave and picket the side of one of the vents angrily shouting "scab" at any bee who ignores you.

Don't forget a burning bin with old floor boards sticking out the top of it and an empty bottle to wee in.
