Hi there, I've got a bit of an issue with my Belkin FSD7050, in particular the software. I've just reformatted and so have had to install everything again. I couldn't find the original CD for my FSD7050 and so went online to download the software/driver. This all installed fine. However, when I try to connect, I find that the software is limited (or so it seems) to channels 1-11 (US limitation?). Since my network runs on channel 13, this is a bit of an issue.

I am reluctant to reconfigure all my other wireless clients and change channel as this was working fine before with the Belkin software off the CD. Is it possible that the software available for website download is locked to US settings? Is there any way to get the software to open up on channels 12/13?

I am slightly frustrated after having phoned Belkin with this problem, which I feel is quite software specific. I was told to 'try rebooting and see if there is any change' and to 'check whether I had plugged in the product'. No surprise to find the call centre is in the Far East  I was then shouted at when I couldn't understand the guy's accent, and put on hold for 20min waiting for a supervisor, during which I was hung up on. not a very happy customer here.

Anyway, rant over! Last time I buy Belkin, but any help on this issue would be very appreciated. Thanks :)

Hi Richard,
Yes that's the page I got it from. I'm gonna assume they only have the US version to avoid US belkin users from 'accidentally' downloading the wrong one and accessing the extra channels. Still, it's a pretty poor setup in my opinion.

I found the CD thankfully, so I now have access to the top two channels. Thanks for all your help.

What version of the 7050 is it?

I use one, and i use modified drivers, as belkin dont release new drivers for it, plus the belkin drivers were rubish , drop outs galore.

The railink drivers are perfect.

The usb adapter uses a railink chipset

Cant you go into the device manager and manualy select the channel range?
