Benefits cheats - do you know any?

Could you show me again where I complained?

I don't see why you would have created this thread if you didn't know it was wrong and the situation didn't anger you.

It's wrong however you look at it and people shouldn't have the opportunity to get away with it!

it's their business and if they get caught then it's their own fault.

And what would happen if you help them get caught?

I believe an ex's landlord was playing the system or out right lying and went as far to report it- ex was a lodger. No way what LL was working could they afford what the did on the amount of hours, as well as a bunch of other hints and tips they were. But that was also partly fueled by how horrible this person was.

I also hate scroungers, and people that would just do nothing. I am myself on JSA at the moment, so I feel I am allowed to comment. I suffer from long term health issues so it's not as easy as just applying to and going in for any old job.

At work talking about one of the large euromillions we were talking about what we'd do if we won. One guy didn't really care, he'd just like enough to pay off his mortgage (around £90k left) and then he'd "retire" at the age of 35-40. I asked him how'd he'd afford other bills, food, clothes etc for his family. He'd claimed that he wouldn't have to as he'd get the government to do it. I was disgusted, yet wasn't surprised. He was from one of the area's where it's socially acceptable not to do anything and claim every penny you could.

Don't know any but do like that some newspapers name and shame them. I'd only take benefits I were entitled to. I even notified my council to remove my single person council tax discount when I got a lodger as I don't fancy an owed tax bill years down the line!

I know it's wrong and it doesn't anger me as such, it's something I accept happens, it's not something that I just became aware off, I've known folks to be at this years ago. I'm genuinely not complaining about it, just seeing what others think and what they would do.

If they are stealing money through benefit fraud then you should report them. Not for a reward, but because they are stealing your and everyone else's money!!! And they're not even poor (earning more money than me!)

Who do you report to when the government steals from you? Say for example you were previously on incapacity benefit which has now become ESA contribution based which disappears in 12 months? You are too ill to work and your partner is now expected to foot the bill. Previously you would have been entitled to some £90.00 a week to help towards making ends meet. Now you get bugger-all with no chance of being able to work because you are too ill.
I'm personally at the stage in life where I do not care what other people are up to as long as they are not murdering people because I see thievery from both sides.

Nothing would happen to me, I'd be anonymous if I reported it I'd imagine. The only consequence would be how'd I'd feel affecting someone else's life. I'm not really sure how much it would affect them, I don't know if it meant paying it back or serving time, really no idea.

Being a rat is one of the worst things you can be. Just like you wouldn't turn your mum in if she murdered someone.

If you're paying tax, they're illegally taking your money. Report them. I'd report them even if they were a family member. Close family member would get a good talking to but my parents would never do it and my dad would give my brother a good clout if he done it.

Can't blame him really. I probably would as well. It's supposedly awful and shameful if someone claims benefits of £100 a week or so, but it's perfectly OK for people like Lewis Hamilton to bugger off to Switzerland to avoid paying tax.

Does'nt compute.

The government doesn't steal from me.

We have a thing called "society" where we redistribute income to help others. That is a good thing.

People taking more than others by lying is not a good thing.

i did, had a friend who sat at home all day playing xbox, claiming job seekers and some sort of disability allowance, got his driving lessons paid for and a cheap gym membership, and he also grew and sold weed while claiming all of this. he moved to another part of the country now and actually works and doesnt claim anything.

So you're basically saying because other people are selfish, I will be too.

I've been reading up on this from a benefit's receiver's point of view. Makes me absolutely sick what the third party companies are up to and how the government are taking away from people genuinely needing help.

I only know one person on benefits, the guy tried to fake an illness to get benefits but in the process did him self some real damage so will never be able to work again.

stupid people will be stupid

I take it you are not on contribution ESA then? What part of society is going to help those who cannot help themselves?

The way things have become I support the benefit cheat unless of cause they are just using the money for drink and drugs then no..

Who are the real fraudsters?, the people or the government I'll pick the council and or the government EVERY time

BS if it was a close family member
