Benq FP241W (Now available from OcUK!!!!!)

Thats excellent news. I will wait until January. Either the FP241WZ or two FP222WH.

Providing the 241wz has 1:1. Ridiculous they didn't put it in, in the first place really. Never mind. They will learn. :-)

Does anyone know if OCUK have the models with the firmware fix in stock yet?

I doubt it very very much... I was speaking to Benq Support yesterday, and they knew there was a firmware upgrade, and that they would be offering an upgrade for any1 that wants it. But at this time , its not available.

She said she thought it would be end of Jan time... but who knows with software, could be any time.

My 360 runs at 1080p Via componant (monitor displays that in the settings) but through VGA it shows as 1600xsomething This is something which microsoft are aware of and will try to fix in the next dash update.

I thought component output was limited to 1080i?

Only HD-DVD is limited to 1080i over component (not just the 360 player, all HD DVDs apparently) but everything else is fine doing 1080p over component.

thats completely untrue.

Component cannot transmit 1080p signals, full stop.

Not all screens will accept 1080p over component, and AACS sources (HD-DVDs/Blue-Ray Discs) will not do 1080p over component, but it is quite possible to have other 1080p sources displaying over component.

Anyone have any idea when these will be available here BenQ FP241VW and what will be the price do you recon , i would defo be interested in one of those , benq usa shows it at $1500 .

Still cant make my mind up about this moniter lol, i am going to order very soon, but it seems a lot for a moniter that seems to be getting some bad reviews from some people, and the fact my x1800xt isnt going to be up to playing most games at 1900 x 1200 so i am going to have to at some point buy a new graphics card, i mean you can get 2 x 22" samsungs for the same price as this.

What bad reviews are you refering?

For my huntings around the internet it seems a X1950 GFX card will power gaming at 1920x1200, so long as your not obsessed with AA/AF being maxed out - I know that doesn't really help your cause, but its on "This Week Only"... ;)

I think I'm swaying towards this monitor, my argumnts for it (vs getting 2x22" monitors or other combo) are:

- With a vertical res > 1080 (unlike 22" monitors) this one supports "super hi def"
- following on from point 1 - 1080p support
- HDMI input - I'm going to keep this monitor for donkeys years, the input means I can connect up "proper" HD equipment in the future.

Just waiting for that 1:1 <child like whine> I want it NOW  </child like whine>
