It is silver, OCUK think that if everyone knows the stock they have is silver they won't buy it, So they are using the Z model picture.

what settings is everyone running theres with ? its an amazing moniter in general but i feel some improvement could be had in the general desktop settings, i found it far too bright to start off with so have darkened it a bit, but i think i may have gone overboard.

Yeah, apparently the firmware fix works very well. Think it might be a while before we see it coming as standard over here though, maybe a couple of months. It may be possible for someone to get the update done over here sometime soon, I think there is a BenQ service centre in Hemel Hempstead. Definitely getting one of these when the firmware is standard.

I'm definitely getting close to buying one of these. ~£400 is too good to pass on for too much longer. Once I can be sure I'll get a 1:1 firmware model I'll be hitting the buy button.

no, don't think they were supposed to have the only UK stock, but they do have a big stock and BenQ often recommend OcUK if you speak with their sales team

purchased this from elsewhere at a cheaper price, didnt include firmware fix had Oct 2005 manufacture date.

Contacted BenQ they said firmware fix isnt available in europe yet, but update will be covered through warranty.

Im disappointed really with reports of BenQ UK sales staff saying that monitors shipped from january will have the fix, though they do mention overclockers all the time.

Perhaps OCuk receives stock direct from BenQ which maybe newly manufactured and stores it themselves; whereas I have seen 3 other online stores all seem to come from the same place, as all 3 had the same change in stock availability on the same day. Maybe manufacturer date of Jan 06 will include firmware fix, this info is on the box, maybe the 2 instock have been manufactured then???
