BenQ XL2420T or Iiyama ProLite G2773HS - I cant decide ??!

I have had both monitors and can tell you I think the benq is far better . The image quality is poor and the colour is very dull on the iiyama . The benq is a true gaming monitor and you wont regret getting it . I love my benq and wouldn't change it for anything . The benq has a lot more bits and bobs to play with and it also comes with a dust cover

I actually read through a lot of your posts and saw you had tried both. Was going to pm you too, just didnt get round to it.

I ordered the BenQ.

Shame overclockers was way dearer than elsewhere i found. I got mine for £259.99 with free next day delivery (should arrive tomorrow).

** No competitor price mentioning **

I got my benq from overclockers as I know there return policy is very good .I didn't know the price had gone up to 299.99 . I got my benq for 260 in the weekly offer . I hope you enjoy your benq , make sure you have a good mess around with the picture settings to get it spot on

That is because it is out of stock and being sold by merchants. I look forward to your thoughts when it comes.

I never understood why one would want a 27" monitor to game on. 24" is huge and border-lining on the need to look around to see the whole image.

I used to have a 27" TV next to my desk and there is no way I would game on something of that size in a seated desk position! :D

First impressions are decent.

And i only mean decent.

The DVI input seems to be faulty, which means i can only test 120 hz mode at a resolution of 1024 x 768 through my hdmi cable.

Motion blur with AMA turned on is certainly an improvement over all other LCD's / LED's i have used but no way, and i mean no way is it anywhere near as good as the old CRT's.

Fast moving horizontal text is still unreadable, just as every other LCD/LED i've ever used.

Input Lag is very decent, basically none whatsoever.

My old monitor is a TV/PC combo, the P2370HD, its like 3 years old, and the picture clarity on the BenQ is <slightly> better. (TN panel is TN panel it seems with little manufacturers can do to improve colour/clarity).

I am in no way blown away by this monitor, maybe my expectations are too high, i dont know.

I just want technology to be so that horizontal moving objects do not blur. This certainly is not it. It might be the best of its class, but it still isnt how technology should be.

If i cant get the DVI connection working (cable is fine, tried it in my old monitor, works perfect), i will be sending this monitor back for a full refund and probably stick with my old monitor for another few years.

£300 is a lot of cash for an upgrade that is barely an upgrade.

I would reserve judgement of the motion acceleration until you have sorted the resolution issue out - were you using the supplied cable which should be dual link? You may be quite sensitive to the overdrive trailing which as my review highlights is certainly present on the BenQ.

Yes, i used the supplied DVI cable.

Both HDMI connections worked.
The (GPU)DVI to (Monitor)VGA Sub Connection worked.
The (GPU)DVI to (Monitor)DVI connection couldn't find a signal. (yes i had DVI selected on the monitor menu).

On my old monitor, i tried the (GPU)DVI to (Monitor)DVI connection and it worked perfect.

So the fault did not lie with my GPU (GTX 560ti) nor the cable, but firmly on the BenQ monitor.

The only good thing i did discover is that my old monitor displays a better picture through DVI than it does HDMI. (maybe a settings thing).

Just bad luck. Ive already reboxed it for a refund.

Great monitor in general, my eyes are just extremely sensitive to motion blur, way above the average person i guess. Not a huge leap forward from my old monitor as i was expecting.
