Benson - You will be missed!

I've never named my own pet, Hence why we have cats called Boogie and Gubbins, plus dogs called Gem and Sam.

Now I'm moving to my own home the gf bought a pup, and then the owner decided he had too many dogs (4 minus the pups!), he said he wanted Benson to come to a good home. I can never say no, I love dogs!

6 years is only half a life for most dogs, but as long as he's had a great 6 years you can only blame nature. Hows your other dog taken it? When our Bruce died, Gem (the other lab) wasn't an happy dog. So now we've always got a younger dog here to keep the older dog company.

My father chose our doberman's name after the Brazilian footballer Zico. It was a little odd at first but at least it was original for a dog.

Benson was affectionately called a few other names but Benson suited him really well.

Kaya really did miss him when we took him to the vet's during the year, so much that everytime we took him in, we took them both :). The worst time for her was when Benson was up in Cambridge for 4 days. Kaya was just a totally different dog, slept most of the time and was a little withdrawn.

Hopefully Kaya and Ruby will get on with each other as Benson did with Kaya. Hopefully they will both live long and happy lives (the age gap is only 1 year between the two of them and not five as it was with Benson and Kaya).

Never nice to see a pet die.

Suppose a saving grace is that he was a lovely dog, and the memories you have are that of love and affection that will never be forgotten.

Sorry to hear fella, i fear some similar news may be coming our way as our doggie has been pretty poorly, we thought she had arthiritis but she doesnt she'd just hurt her leg, but she had some sort of fit the other morning which we dont know what caused. She's getting on now, 11 years old bless.

My sister had a rotty and he was such a softie too. Really sorry that you have lost him, I know from experience how bad a time this is.

Was that the dog I could here when we was playing on GoW.

RIP

Yup, both of them barked when the doorbell went. Most of the time though Kaya was nuzzling me and dropping her ball in my lap :).

If it weren't for the arthiritis in Benson's leg I guess we might have been able to spot the cancer sooner (though now I think that it might not have made much of a difference as it was so aggressive :(). I'm sorry to hear about your dog CDj-Rossi. It's never the right time for things like this to happen, more so when it's coming up to christmas as well.

Sorry to hear that, my dog is on her ;ast legs aswell, and its such a shame to see her hobbling about now.

By the way, what kind of dog is that wee wrinkly fella in the middle of that pic? Those are the coolest looking dogs!

edit: Nevermind I just read the description... :o :o

Thanks guys for all you thoughts. We've laid Benson to rest this evening in the back garden and can only hope he's in a better place.
