Currently using 1GB of Corsair XL - I need to make the jump to 2GB.
Some good deals for around £130 + VAT this week.

I've read about dividers and stuff where dual core CPUs are concerned and it's all a little confusing! Any help or advice would be appreciated :)

basically get a decent set of DDR3200 with tight timings is the best way to go, and run on a divider i.e The FSB is 250MHz, running with a divider on the RAM to keep it as close to standard clocks as possible, which is 200MHz

g.skill hz series.....fast as hell and cheap as chips

only way to go
Not with an AMD64 - you want tight timings over huge bandwidth - dividers are your friend. I highly recommend the Corsair 3500LL's. At that price they are absolutely without question THE best value for money.

dont spend too much on ram. its not crucial for an a64 system and your money is better spent elsewhere. get some half decent ram in the biggest size sticks you can and save the rest of your money:)
Sounds cool. I just thought the current 1GB of RAM might be a bottleneck in my system.

Current setup:
3800 X2
A8N-SLI
7800GT
74gb Raptor
1GB Corsair XL 3200

I won't worry too much about the extra GB if it's not too important :)
TBH 1GB seems ok, even with BF2 etc - not even sure what benefits to expect with the extra GB though it inevitably will become essential.
