Someone reccomended the Sony KDL32S2010U which fits right into this price range, just wondering if anyone else had any ideas? :)

Hi you can get a Samsung LE40R73BD 40" for £881 delivered now.

I dont know if I can say the name as its a competitor with some discount codes. But a quick google should help.

I am just about to buy at 32" LCD and have narrowed it down to:

Samsung LE32N73 ~£800
Sony KDL 32V2000 ~ £950
Toshiba 32WLT68 ~£870

If you can stretch to £870 I would go for the new Toshiba 32WLT68. It is getting excellent reviews and has 3 HDMI ports for future proofing. It also seems to be the current favorite 32" on Av Forums. Otherwise the Samsung is a great alternative.

That toshiba one does looks good, where can you get it for £870? Is the 3500:1 contrast ratio real or dynamic?

Sorry should have put £880. According to Toshiba the contras ratio is Dynamic, not that I pretend to know what that means!

Toshiba 32WLT68 Specs

Pricerunner.co.uk is a good place to go to look for low prices.

EDIT: Removed competitor names as I had no idea that OcUK are actually selling the 32WLT68!!

Dynamic is when the brightness is adjusted to give the illusion that the tv has a great contrast then it does which can make certain things not look as good as they should. A lot of samsungs have 1200:1 constast ratio but quote 5000:1 dynamic ratio.

For the Samsung 40"? Those are around £1200. Are you sure? Not the 32"?

i have the 26" r74 (LE26r74bdx i think, just change *** 26 for a 32 for screen size.) version which is slightley better than the r73. i think, has *** silver bit at the ottom as opposed to blue, can get the 32" version for around 7-800 will support a widescreen resolution of 1380 sumthing by 768, lol

when i was buying mine i found *** best place to goo was avforums.com

bravia is damn good but can be pricey.

I'll probably go for a sony one then if they have best pq, they seem cheaper than the toshiba ones too. Shame they don't seem to sell 37" ones though but their 40" are cheaper than the toshibas 37".

The 73 and 74 are technically identical, it's just the 73 is supplied by a high street chain and it's subsidiaries, and has the blue at the bottom, not the silver.
Shop around online and you can grab the 32" 74 online for around £630
