want to get some surround headphones, mainly for movies / games , whats the best recomendations at the moment?

You may want to do a search on this forum yourself as I personally found a mixture of responses. Mostly negative comments about 5.1 headphones in general compared to the top brands for the best headphones

I have just ordered the Zalman ZM-RS6F+M 5.1 Surround Sound Headphones due to it being relatively cheap and a few good comments on the product itself as seen on the ocuk catalog. My main and only purpose to buying these is for CSS and nothing else. As i hardly watch movies nor listen to music much. From some of the good feedback it meant to give me a good audio spacial awareness that I should benefit when in-game.

Be interested to see what most still think of this Zalman's as most have commented to be pretty poor but some reviews i read was promising nevertheless.

I have some Medusa headphones, they are not bad to be honest, better than waking up the whole house with booming 5.1 ;)

Spend your money on a set of REAL headphones and not on poor quality 5.1 headphones, let alone headsets !!!

A pair of sennheisers like the hd-555 will give far better sound positioning than 5.1 sets and will sound noticeably better. Plus they will sound sublime with music :D

What's your budget ?

£100 max, was looking foward to watchin some films on me pc in 5.1 tbh :) without waking the neighbours (i have a wierd sleep pattern )

DONT DO IT.

I asked the same question here a few days ago:

Some very helpfull posts led me to http://www.head-fi.org/

A very helpfull community to be honest but they sure know their stuff about Headphones.

With that budget, a 5.1 headphone set would be a complete waste to be honest in terms of audio quality, especially if you want to watch films.

A solid pair of stereo headphones with good seperation will out perform ANY 5.1 headset within your price range.

As you can see from the thread I started, I was in exactly the same position as you.. I also work nights and mainly get to use the computer late evening/early morning.... in the end, common sense prevailed and:

I have a pair of Audio-Technica ATH-A900 Art Headphones on their way for a tuppence over £100 DELIVERED. Most UK stores offering them for £155, yes they are imported but that does not bother me, it is a very reputable site.

These will BLOW ANY 5.1 headset out the water and they will last 4 times as long most likely and Can also be used for Hi-Fi and TV as well as gaming.

I also got carried away and also have a Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty Premium on the way as well but with those 2.. my head will definitely be rocking :)

Just my 2 pence worth. Email in trust if you need specific details ;)
