My friend is looking for a home cinema system. He'd like the best TV and home surround sound currently, money isn't an issue. He initially says a curved one but I thought that to be a gimmick mainly. Any help would be appreciated!

Erm best surround system? Money no object? I can spec an £18k home receiver and about £75k worth of speakers? :p a top end might help with the surround. TV wise newest LG OLED as above.

You can't get the best 55" TV for 1.5k. What is his budget for the sound system? I presume you mean £500 for everything, not just an amp. Either way, again £500 will not get you the best.

You really need to provide more information. What does he want? If he doesn't know then stop being lazy and do some research on what technology is available instead of expecting others to guess for him.

first of all tell your mate money no object means he has at least £100K to spend.

the best 55" tv is £3K alone but you can go even more expensive with bigger tv's. for example manchester united squad spent £100K on a tv once for their training ground. that is a true money no object tv, not £1.5K that is what the average joe spends on a tv.

what your mate wants to do is go to currys and buy a £1.5k tv and a £500 blu ray 5.1 system, both most likely from samsung as he sounds like the type of guy who would be happy with samsung. tell him it's the best and he will believe it.
