So,
im after a 775 cooler for the core2duo setup i will be purchasing in the new year.

What are peoples suggestions ??

anyone know af any 'roundup' reviews with 775 coolers ?

Cheers

will that drop the temperatures by a great deal over the standard cooler ?

Anyone using this cooler got some input ? is it quiet ?

anyone got any figures ?

Thing i dont get is that the standard cooler is actually really good and pretty quiet.

I have me E6300 runnin @ 32degrees with stock cooler - dont see the point in splashing more cash when its that good!

I use the Scythe Miné Quiet Heatpipe CPU Cooler http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-005-SY&tool=3 it's not the cheapest cooler but I certainly think it's one of the quietest, I've used around 12 different socket 775 coolers and this has to be one of the best I've owned, tbh as pretty much all the C2D chips run at a low temp so any cooler will be fine, I've even heard of people getting good o/c's using the stock cooler but I'm not a fan of that as it get's a little noisey on load.

Temps,

- Idle 34
- loaded 42

Ac Freezer 7 pro, running half speed (1200rpms) idle 28-31 (accordig to BIOS), actual cores are about 40-41 using core-temp, and the Freezers silent, never bothered checking my load temps as its running fine, and temps are low at idle. :)

Assuming you mean air coolers, the best in my opinion are:

Scythe Ninja/Mine
Thermalright Ultra 120
Zalman 9700
Tuniq tower

Just get an Arctic cooling Freezer 7 - it's almost as good as the expensive coolers and will see you a very good overclock at very low noise levels.

cool, i think i will go for an Arctic cooling Freezer 7.

this should allow me to overclock a bit. then if i want more i will look at a scythe ninja.

cheers guys

Best performance:
Titan armanda/Tuniq tower 120/ thermalright ultra 120/zalman 9700 series.

Best silent one: Scythe ninja.

Bets value for money: Freezer 7 pro
