Best Albums of 2012

I thought the newest XX album was horrendous especially compared to there debut album

so far i have liked

MUSE- 2nd law
4 door ciinema club - Beacon
nothing else springs to mind the Bat For Lashes is ok too, Rubbish year

Of my recent purchases i'll go with

Passenger - All the little lights – Bought it off the guy whilst he was busking in Manchester before a gig, and since bought all his others.
Alt-J – An Awesome Wave
Aiden Grimshaw – Misty Eye
First Aid Kit – The Lions Roar
Josh Osho – L.I.F.E
Kosheen – Independence
Two Door Cinema Club – Beacon

Wasn’t really a fan of the new XX album or the Mumford and Sons album. Mumford and Sons especially sounds like their first too much for me.

Honorable mention to Mr B The Gentleman Rhymer and his Tweed Album. His own genre called “Chap Hop” which is basically as if Hip Hop was invented 100years ago. Very amusing!

Op - I'm a fan of a lot of the ones in your list so i'll be checking out the others. Always good to see fans of Tallest Man on Earth :)

Oh dear. I have only heard of one of the artists in OP:o

...I don't listen to enough current music:(

Don't worry your not missing much.

I gave up on chart music the day top of the pops died, and even before it died I was giving up on chart music.

Just not enough quality and originality.

Number one means nothing anymore.

I'm not saying I don't like new bands, some are really good and I go to plenty of live gigs, V festival.

Not really pop chart music, its a thread for any albums of 2012 that are worth a listen.

No words on the new Soundgarden album, King Animal, yet? I personally love it, a true return from a '90s behmoth. The songs sound that much more mature, moved on, yet still retaining the unmistakeable Soundgarden experience. At least a 9/10 from me.

I'm eagerly awaiting the new 'The Blood of Heroes' album, The Waking Nightmare. 2010's self-titled debut was astonishing, and with the same level of talent aboard for this album, with Justin Broadrick's golden touch in the mix too, it's going to be a good'un. Pretty sure there's samples up on the labels site (Ohm Resistance).

Having recently picked this up i'm going to have to add it. A cracking album
