It's my mums birthday this weekend and I need to get her some art things. I'm thinking of buying her a really nice set of quality pencils but not sure who do great pencils... Oh, and a proper sharpner/rubber too. :P

Any ideas?

Go to an Artshop and ask the assistant.

Failing that, ive used Derwent pencils and they seem to do the job. I would post my obligatory drawing but cant find it.

I went to hobby craft a little while ago they had **** loads of art stuff in there have a look in there for something for you're mum they are abit pricey.

Thanks, I'll have a look about for the Derwent stuff. I didn't know who makes good art things so it gives me a good starting point. :)

pencils? not the most exciting things.

Artists tend to use softer pencils because it's easier to smudge but whenever im drawing I prefer HB. Might wanna bear that in mind or something

You're be overwhelmed by choice not sure about the other hobby crafts i went to the one in southampton.

Pencils arn't very exciting but she will like em. I could buy her a PS3 but I think it would just confuse her.

It's got to be better than smellies or flowers anyway. It's her new hobby so I think she will appreciate them.
