what is the best ATI card for sale here? im thinking of getting something to replace my 256meg 7800GTX while i wait for the next gen to get here, im gonna sound like a noob here but whats the difference between a crossfire eddition and a normal card?

its gonna go in this system

AMD Athlon™ 64 FX-57 Processor
NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX Extreme Edition 256MB
SB Audigy 2 ZS Audio
OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC3200 Dual Channel Platinum Series
ASUS A8N-SLI Premium
Thermaltake Purepower 560W Psu

HIS Excalibur ATI Radeon X1900 XT-X ICEQ 3 SILENT Heatpipe 512MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-052-HT)

that card is good but there is a special offer on the non x version which would be worth it.

Aye, I would go for this one personally...

Sapphire ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-112-SP)
Price: £221.95 (£260.79 Including VAT at 17.5%)

Just as good as the XT-X in terms of real-world performance, and will overclock to XT-X speeds easily if you are so inclined. The only difference is that the XT-X will overclock further due to having 1.1ns RAM, but at £260 who cares? ;)

why does it specifically need to be ATI, do you not like nvidia, have you had problems with your 7800, does your motherboard not like nvidia cards, just seems odd your only interested in the best ATI card, im not a nvidia fanboy or anything the last 3 cards i have bought have been ATI, GTO2, x1800xt and an x1900xt before that i had 3 Nvidia cards, 6800LE, geforce 4mx 440 and sum geforce 2 card, i make my decisions on what all the current cards have to offer and my budget and what i need i have no loyalty to any company

how long do you guys think it will be untill the first DX10 cards hit the market? if it gonna be before the end of the year i think i will wait

around xmas last i heard, not exactly along time anyway so you might aswell save the cash and blow it all on a nice next gen card when the time comes ;)

Says this on all those x1900's.

You won't find an X1900 XT graphics card cheaper anywhere else! Be quick as at these prices stock won't last long

Of course you will, they are £20 cheaper than your lowest priced one. :D
