Since my Dual SATA board is no longer working I am forced to buy a new board..
However i am not gonna skimp this time.. I want a decent board.

Therefore what are the recommendations?

I am drawn to the DFI LanParty NF4 SLI-DR EXPERT board but have just been reading the thread on the DFI RD580 board..

Also I am only running a Neopower 480w PSU.. will this supply enough power for an sli/crossfire setup + 2 HDDs (1 raptor), 1 DVDr and about 4 fans??

Cheers :)

480w might be pushing it especially with xfire. If your going xfire get the rd580 or sli then get the expert. As the 170 only has a x10 multi then you need a board capable of 270 at the least. Dfi is basically your only safe bet. I have the expert and its great but the new rd580 is suppose to be the best board ever released for s939.

rd580 for crossfire - Expert for SLI. A new PSU(580w minimum) should be a priority. A 480 w PSU will run mid range cards ok in SLI/xfire but if your going for x1900/7900 cards then I wouldn't have thought a 480w will run them without problems. A decent PSU is THE most important component in any modern PC imo.
