Best budget storage drive 2017?

Hi long time lurker here, Looking to get another drive for general storage games, movies etc

Is the 1TB WD blue still the best bet ? Or has anything changed in the 4 years since i last used one.

There is not a huge amount of difference in prices for a normal 1TB drive unless you look at Seagate Enterprise stuff

Seagate/Western Digital Blue are good for normal use

I've used a 1TB WD Blue 3.5" desktop hard disk for a couple of years as a data drive and it's a good mechanical drive.

It seems most people are favouring SSD drives now but at larger capacities the SSD drives cost a pretty penny so mechanical drives will be with us a while longer.

What storage drives do you currently own? . . . . Have you got an SSD in your system?

I've got a 2TB WD Green that I've had for 20 months now, works a treat and also has my Steam games running from it with no issues
