I'm currently looking for a "business" like phone. I have found the Nokia E61, is this the best out there at the moment as far as features go?

Obiously after the cheapest tariff to go with it and Three seem to be doing a decent one at the moment. Can any other phone match the E61's features?

Thanks

The E61 is a fantastic phone. The only thing letting it down is the lack of camera. For the price there's nothing else that comes close.

Other things to look at include the SE P990 and Treo 650 but they are more expensive.

Maybe also look at the E70, similar to the E61 but you lose the one handed QWERTY use, gain a camera, the screen is higher res but smaller making text too small in my opinion. It's also a bit more expensive than the E61.

I'm replacing my Treo 650 with the E61.

Id say the SE P990i is an excellent business type phone, 3g enabled with built in WIFI...runs on symbian UIQ3 and is a great phone/pda. Quite a stunning handset, ive had mine for over a week and cant get enough of it.

Another one to consider is the SE M600i again another UIQ3 device and is quite a nice phone, i liked mine till i sent it back for the p990i. Has a pretty cool form factor but works brilliantly.

Other than the P990i and M600i, the HTC TYN TYN is another good business phone, runs on Windows Mobile version 5. Seems like a good pda/phone.

Yeah the SE P990i and HTC TyTN are nice... but they are literally twice the price of the E61. The E61 can be had for £255 where the P990i is closer to £600 and the TyTN is over £500. Not worth it in my view.

Edit: I've never used the M600i, how did you get on the with keyboard?

The keyboard on the M600i is pretty small. I didn't have any trouble using it, but I found the P910i's keyboard quite useable and I know I'm in the minority there.

The Nokia E61 is a great business phone for the price. It's got plenty of RAM, which helps greatly.

The keyboard on the m600i was and is brilliant, the form factor if the phone was something different...i liked it a lot. Only reason why i sent it back is because it lacked the WIFI, wasnt too fussed about the camera as i have a k800i that i use for camera stuff.

Both p990i and Tyn Tyn are worth the money for what they are, you pay top dollar for the latest tech as far as im concerned.

I wouldnt touch a nokia, the n80 and 6680 before that put me off them for life and i wasnt that impressed with the E61 and E70 compared to the p990i and m600i. Havent had the chance to play with the Tyn Tyn but thats mainly due to the fact it runs on WM5 which i cannot stand tbh, its just as bad as the S60 operating system the nokias run on.

Although saying that i do miss my p910i, brilliant phone but the p990i is getting better and better, just had a recent firmware update that allows you to multi task much better. Before the update multi tasking was a non starter, you could open one or 2 apps before it crashed. Seems like SE listened to us moaning over at esato and my-symbian and made the p990i a lot more efficient at multi tasking now.

probably not what you're looking for but the best business phone is a blackberry, no question about it. i just got a new 8700 and i'm even more impressed, it's a remarkably good phone in addition to email machine and it's usable enough as an organiser
