Best / Cheapest Place To Buy New Kitchen?

Could look at applicants on ebay and similar.
Seen 5 burner age gobs go for ~£60 on ebay rather than the ~350 brand new and in good condition. Nothing a bit of elbow to turn them back to new condition. Same with ovens, not so much fridge/freezers they seem to hold there price. But built in stuff seems to go dirt cheap as people just buy packages and some just seem to upgrade there new kitchens every few years.

Planning on buying a run down house in jan, I'm tempted to start stock piling such things, but at the same time, it would be a waste of money, if I can't find a place or can't get a mortgage.

They measured up at a mate's house today so I'm getting a full report tomorrow.

Ah cool, keep us udpated, altho Im pretty sure if theyre offering FREE* Installation then their units are gonna be fairly pricey.

About the same time they started doing composite front doors, garage gates and window glazing.

whada

I'm not nor ever have been "Trade", however I went in to my local Howdens and asked for an account... 24hrs later account up and running.

Anyone have an experience with the longevity of Wicks take away kitchens? i need to replace the kitchen on a house i just bought as it is absolutely horrible, falling apart and filthy. I want to keep it cheap as possible but reasonable quality, because im not sure how long im going to keep the house.

I was thinking of calling Howdens to see if we can get an account because we fit heat pumps and require laminate flooring after fitting underfloor heating, be handy to get one from there but im not sure what their qualifications for an account are?

Uber thread bump ahoy!

Ive installed some of the howdens budget stuff in a couple of my flats, and they have done me proud, saves so much time with them coming pre built. I like many got an account opened up no bother, im not in the trade, but told them i had a couple of flats and they were happy to set me up.

Cant reccomend them enough, compared the wickes stuff to Howdens, and Howdens were much cheaper for a superior product. They are expensive for the worktops and cheapo appliances though.

Ended up ordering my kitchen from DIY Kitchens, it was cheaper than wickes, better quality and more for the money, will make a post when it comes to fitting

Whenever I've gone flat pack I've always used Howdens, sheds are rubbish quality and places like Magnet rip you off.

You can get a trade card at most places quite easily. I'm not in the trade and I've got a lot of trade cards.

You don't need to be in the trade for Howdens.

But....you do need to know your kitchen layout and come with the full plan on what units you want with all measurements etc. Go in and tell them precisely what units you want there won't be a problem. Go in asking them to sell you a kitchen you'll get told to go away.

Doesn't the discount you get from Howdens depend on the standing of the account being used? That is what I have been lead to believe.

I bought and fitted my own Howdens' kitchen, purchased via the account of a friend of a friend, so got their discount. It varied across items, but was in the region of 60-75% iirc.

They came out and measured our kitchen, then we went into their branch to design it.

The only thing we're not happy with is the worktops. They're below average and will probably be the first thing we have to replace.

We bought a new build and it has a Howdens Kitchen fitted and I am really not happy with it.

It could quite possibly be down to poor fitting though.

Most doors either rub, don't close properly, or are loose.
I'm sick of trying to adjust everything if I am honest.

Not really sure what i can do about it either.

Only been in here 18 months as well :(

Am I right in thinking £200 a day for a kitchen fitter in Manchester sounds about right?

And for a Medium kitchen 4-5 days for ripout and refit - same layout so pretty straight forward?

Had a price from a local place but pricing up with DIY Kitchens, I'm sure they get their kitchens from there anyway!

Not sure, i know Wickes wanted £1700 to fit mine! its only a simple L and 2 wall units! That was purely fitting as well, no removal or anything
