Best Conroe Motherboard?

Hi everyone, for some reason my DS4 has just died, it freezes when the "memory" counter comes up on the bios start screen, except it just shows "memo". No amount of memory swapping around fixes it.

Im almost certain its not the ram.

ANY idea on which conroe and nvidia 7950 supporting best bang for buck motherboard to use? Intel, DFI 975x? I want to stay clear of gigabyte this time, had enough issues with it as we all did (ala memory)

And also are the 975's much better than the 965 chipsets???

Sorry about the problems u having m8. The 975's are supposed to be the more mature chipset (at a cost), but the 965's seem to be overclocking better and better as bios updates are released. from what I've heard there is very little difference between the two afa the 6600 and 6700's go now. You have'nt stated your psu you using, but i would assume that it is sufficient for the setup.

Ive been running my Nvidia 7950 with Gigabyte DS4 and G.SKill hz memory for about 3 months now. I was happy with everything, now the mobo has give up the ghost. Just hangs in a place where ive never seen a pc hang, it refuses to budge.

The psu is a hefty Tagan TG580-U15 580W, so i know i dont have power issues.

Choosing a mobo can be rather difficult esp with this conroe range. Im hoping my diagnosis is correct. But i feel like trying another brand.

DFI Infinity 975X - is a tad plain

or

MSI 975X Platinum PowerUP ?

or

Asus P5W DH Deluxe WiFi?

Any ram issues with these two motherboards?
